Q.Why do I get a message "No response from the modem"?
Q.When I try to connect to the Internet, why does my computer stop responding at the point "Verifying username and password"?
Q.Why do I keep getting disconnected!!!?
Q.Why do I get the message "Authentication Failed" when I try to connect to the Internet?
Q.It says DNS not found when I try to go to a web page?
Q.Why do I get: 'A connection to the server could not be established.' when I try to browse?

Q.Why do I get a message "No response from the modem"?
A.Either your modem being incorrectly configured, or due to the fact that your modem is on the blink most commonly causes this. To determine if your modem is in good operating condition, please run a diagnostic check on it. To do that, simply open Control Panel, then open Modems. Then select the Diagnostics tab at the top. Select your modem and com port by clicking it one time then click more info. It will then begin a diagnostic check of your modem. Once complete, look carefully in the box that comes up and see if you see the word Error anywhere in the text. If you do, chances are your modem has been damaged somehow and you will need to put a new modem in your machine.

Q.When I try to connect to the Internet, why does my computer stop responding at the point "Verifying username and password"?
A.This can mainly be due to one of the following reasons:

1. You have entered a wrong username or password.
2. Your Internet Connection may have been disabled by NEXT.

Q.Why do I keep getting disconnected!!!?
A.There can be many reasons for this to happen. Having call waiting enabled or If you pick up the phone during a session would result in being disconnected. Make sure your call waiting is disconnected.

Q.Why do I get the message "Authentication Failed" when I try to connect to the Internet?
A.This can be due to one of the following reasons:

1. You have entered a wrong username or password.
2. Your Internet Connection may have been disabled by NEXT due to non-payment of.

Q.It says DNS not found when I try to go to a web page?
A.This occurs when trying to access an extremely busy site, It can also occur when your connection is bad or your connection is dropped. If you are getting consistent errors like "Host Name not found", does not have a DNS entry, or "Unable to locate host" it may mean the site you are trying to access is down or you have lost your connection. Remember that your connection does timeout after 15 minutes of inactivity. When this occurs, the best solution is to reestablish another connection. If you are consistently dropping connections, please call your local tech support number for further information.

Q.Why do I get: 'A connection to the server could not be established.' when I try to browse?
A.Your inability to browse may be due to several reasons, the most important of which are:

1.You have not established a connection to the Internet. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet, otherwise your browser will be unable to open any Internet site except what might be previously viewed and saved on your computer from a previous connection.
2.The server hosting the site you are trying to visit may be down or overloaded. Try the site at another time.
3.The address you are trying to reach does not exist.
4.Your DNS settings may be incorrectly configured (network and Dial up).
Change settings to disable DNS. If the problem persists, remove all components from the network then reinstall dial up adapter - TCP/IP and client for Microsoft networks.
5.You have mistyped the address of the site you want to visit. Make sure that the address is typed correctly and try again.
6.Your proxy settings may be incorrectly configured on your browser.
